Personally, as a (traditional) conservative, I actually kinda like where we're at right now. I don't want the neocons OR the libs to have total power. The way I see it, the only bills that can be passed now are the ones everyone agrees on.. Now that doesn't mean it's a good bill (see- Patriot 1 & 2, Homeland Security Acts), but it means there is a limit, no party can just do whatever they want. The dems can push all kinds of bills, but Bush can veto them, too, and they don't have the 66% to override the veto unless some of the Reps break with the party. On the other hand, Reps don't have the majority at all, and in fact won't even get to decide what makes it out of committee and onto the House/Senate as a whole. So Dems are calling the dance, but I still think it should be a slow couple of years for new legislation. What's anybody else think?
