Green Day is one of those bands that can write great catchy songs. No billi-joe is not the best guitar player, mike is not the best bassist. But look at the Ramones none of them were masters of their instruments but they wrote the catchiest songs you\'ve ever heard. Yeah a lot of metal bands of good guitarists but they play these overly technical guitar solos for what seems like 10 minutes. Punk music in general is more simplistic, beauty in simplicity. And Green Day has punk roots.
