What doesn't kill us, only makes us stronger... so instead of trying to make things better as quickly as possible, give your problems to God and allow this situation to help you and your girlfriend grow even closer to God than ever before. 1Peter 5:7 might help you out. It's one of my favorite verses in scripture.
