Hmm.. I don't know how much we can talk about this without somebody accusing me of glorifying it, which is not my intent. Well, they have vaporizers now, that will extract the contents of herbs without burning them (no smoke, no lung damage). And you can also cook with it, but of course, like any other recipe, the quality you get out of it is based on the quality you put in. But I wouldn't even say that 100% of the people smoking it are doing a bad thing. Marijuana has tons of medicinal uses. Just off the top of my head, it's good for glaucoma. The associated increase in appetite has really helped a lot of chemo and AIDS patients who have lost their appetite. And since I don't have insurance, I used to take just a couple of puffs to help with my acid reflux. I found it more effective than Tums or Rolaids, and MUCH cheaper than having to pay 100% to see a doctor and get a prescription for the "healing purple pill" or something. This was before I was convicted about breaking the law. There's no getting around that argument. I'm just speaking "in a state of nature" about the plant itself, not the implications of breaking the law. I'd rather use something natural, than something cooked up in a lab anyway. I do say that drugs are bad, and to be avoided, and I apply that regardless of whether that's by doctor's order, or "self-prescription." Sometimes you need to take a pill, to help you with a certain condition, I'm not against medicine. I just don't see it as the easy answer some people do. I think that we overmedicate people in the US, and a lot of that is due to the politics and the big money behind the drug companies. But yeah, it is illegal, so I'm stuck with Tums for now. :P
