So, my girlfriend went to the doctor's today for a physical. While she was there, she mentioned that she had been getting lightheaded a lot and blacking out and stuff. The doctor gave her an EKG. They found a little (very little) piece of her heart missing. They said it probably wasn't serious, but they wanted to perform an Echocardiogram, just to make sure. That was this morning. She came over to my house tonight and we hung out for a little. I guess the doctor called her mom while she was out (I don't really know). But anyways, she called me about twenty minutes ago and told me that the doctors think she has Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy (HOCM). The good news is, it's treatable. The bad news is, it's the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in athletes (she's a dancer). I'm not looking forward to her having a cardiac arrest anytime soon. Please pray firstly that the doctors are wrong, and secondly that God restores her to wholeness if it be His Will. Thank you so much.
