Who here has seen the movie Freedom Writers? It stars Hilary Swank and is about a young teacher who teaches in an integrated turned highschool in the inter-city district of LA, CA. She is assigned to teach freshman english to a group of teens of mixed races, who all lead lives plagued with the horrers of inter-city racial violence. At first they won't listen, but after some major events (I don't wanna give it away in case someone hasn't seen it), they become like a family. It is a movie that teaches the importance of loving others, making others feel accepted/worthwhile, and the negative affects of racism/prejudice. I reccomend it to anyone 16+ (I say that 'cause it is PG-13 and contains a lot of language and quite a bit of gang violence) who loves heart changing stories. If you have seen this, please comment on it here and discuss it with others who have seen it! Thanks horsechic P.S. Btw, I loved this movie! It was very well done in my opinion, and it didn't hurt that it talks about Anne Frank (you'll understand once you see the movie), who happens to be one of my favorite historical figures!
