Hmm, well, do you have fine tuners also? My violin has only one fine tuner...that is what will happen is you upgrade. Are there not any other teachers around? Well I\'ll try to tell you, but it is really hard to say without showing you. Ok, do you know which peg controles each string?? If you don\'t well, if your violin is facing you then the top peg on the rightis your \"A\" string which is what you would tune first. the one below it is the \"E\" which is very weak so if you can , i would use the fine tuner on it...but if the pitch is WAY off, then just be extra careful. If you pull the peg away from you, then you are tuning the string to a higher pitch. I\'m sorry if this is hard to understand. You also need a tuner or piano to match your pitch. And make sure you don\'t pull the peg out when you are trying to tune! The first few times I tryed tuning mine I popped a string...but that is ok, because I was learning, plus I get new strings every 3 months because they WILL wear out when you practice. Well thats awesome that you love the violin!! It is the best! The best advice I can give you right now is to get a teacher, because they can show you how, and you can be watched, you know, just to make sure you are doing it right. Oh and when you are tuning, be sure to grab hold of the peg and peg box and put a little pressure, untill you fill the peg slide in, only if you KNOW that your peg was slipping out a little bit. If the peg does fall out then you will have to reput the string on. I think it is really cool that some people own like 6 million dollar violins!! I just upgraged and my violin is $5,000 and it is Italian. Good bows are around 200 - $2,000, that is where i\'m at right now. I would talk more about this, but my mind just went blank!! hahaha!! -Alicia
