The law is fullfilled in Christ. The law only could reveal our sin until Jesus came to redeem us from sin. See Hebrews 1-2 1In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. There is nothing left to be revealed but what was in Christ. He is our final divine revelation. But this was hard to accept by the Jews because they were expecting a Messiah that would be a military leader not a suffering servant as described in the gospels (especially the book of Mark) They had no room in their Theology for such a claim.
