Free to Choose
I am free to choose and I choose not to go back.
I choose to be a child that seeks his Fatherâs delight.
There was a time I didnât care, a time of self-indulgence.
A life lived for personal gratification and gain.
That person died when darkness received the light.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free
from the law of sin and of death.
New birth, in the Spirit and water was my fate.
Growth comes slowly, but it comes with persistence.
Gradually, understanding slows rash impulses.
Gradually, wisdom slows rash judgment.
Gradually, discernment reveals the magnitude of Godâs wondrous love.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails
The lawâs curse has been defeated by perfect love.
Therefore, I am no longer in danger of Godâs wrath, no longer condemned.
Like you, I am free to choose and I choose repentance instead of defiance.
Like you, I am free to choose and I choose to serve instead of being served.
Like you, I am free to choose and I choose life over death.
And because of that choice, a new course has been set.
By Godâs grace, a new destination awaits me.
