They're not a true Christian band unless they're labeled like that. Switchfoot didn't want to market themselves as Christian because they didn't want to turn off non-Christians who would otherwise not want to listen to their music and the hidden message in their lyrics.

Switchfoot didn't want to market themselves as Christian because they didn't want to turn off non-Christians who would otherwise not want to listen to their music and the hidden message in their lyrics.[/quote] ya... but, they're still trying to do a sort of evangelism through their lyrics and stuff, which makes them Christian in my mind like, one time at SoulFest John Cooper from Skillet gave this little speech about this same thing... he was saying how people said that they really weren't Christian just because they were releasing their CD's on the mainstream market... he was talking about how a lot of secular rock and stuff is really negative, talking about drugs, sex, and violence.... John said that they were trying to shift that in rock and make it more positive by displaying a positive, Christian message through their songs... they might not necessarily market themselves as a Christian band, but they really still are

i guess u could consider "Believe" by Brooks and Dunn a Non-Christian Christian song...if a non-Christian Christian song is what I think it is...that title is confusing itself....
