As i walk into the room
and stand next to your bed,
I feel a sense of peace
like dew drops falling upon my head.

I see you sleeping there
with such beauty and such grace.
I lean down slowly
and lightly kiss your face

You make no sudden movements
only smiling in your sleep
A memory that I'll treasure
and forever will I keep.

That picture in my head
that makes my heart to burn.
Though you uttered not a word
You said, "I Love You" in return.

Tears fall down like rain drops
as I stare across the sky.
I think of how much I've loved you
since I saw you there that night.

I wish I could have told you
just how much you meant to me,
but duty had come to calling
to a land across the sea.

I write this note to tell you
of the things I should have said,
but the wound I have is fatal
and so soon I shall be dead.

But Weep for me no more darling,
fore this you already know:
You are my one and only,
and I so dearly love you so.
