Well, I went to the specialist yesterday for my knees.  For a mere $200 he told me that I get to live with the knee situation until it improves itself.  WOW.  It was good news to hear that surgery wasn't emminent, but not so good to hear "yes, it hurts, and yes it's debilitating, but no, there isn't a quick fix to it."  I sure like quick fixes. 

I have a dear old friend who has a friend who is recommending she use a new "breakthrough" "all Natural" weight loss pill.  She asked what I thought about it and I couldn't help but tell her I wouldn't touch it with a pole.  I can attribute most of my weight gain to weight loss programs and breakthroughs that don't work.  There is no quick fix.  Diet and exercise.  That's it.  Even when people have that bariatric by-pass surgery, guess how they lose the weight?  Yep, diet and exercise. 

And now I am reading a book and doing a study about how to turn my craving for and worship of too much food into a craving for and worship of God.  Can't have too much God!  It is making so much sense.  I don't know if it will help me lose hundreds of pounds, but I know it has helped me look at some of the reasons I eat.  Like because I don't want to deal with a past hurt, or I am bored.  It helps to know stuff like that.  And to face the hurts and deal with them.

One step at a time. ..

I just blew out my knee - again.  This time it was the right one not the left, but the left still isn't healed from blowing it out last spring.  This isn't making me happy.  I have a specialist appointment for next week and I have some good pain meds and a cane, but this just isn't good.  I have stuff to do!!! 

I talked to God about it.  Actually, I cried and railed (is that a word?) well, that's what I did.  I was feeling extremely sorry for myself and I wondered if it's just going to be my lot in life to have an anvil drop on me everytime things seem to be going well...

I have been doing a study with some friends that is helping me realize how the devil lies to me all the time.  he says that everyone has it better than me, that God blesses other people, but doesn't like me much.  It helps to remember that he's a LIAR.  God is good, and God is God.  It helps to remember that there are people who lose their limbs... I still have mine.  There are people who don't have nearly the blessings that I have, kids, family, home, etc... and people who still believe the lies the devil tells.

So.  I have to say okay. I will take this hit without blaming it on you God, you are still here and still love me and are still working out my life to your glory.  And you will be here through the huge medical bills that come with no insurance.  You will still love me if I can't work for awhile and other bills come due.  You will still provide for me, just like you always have.  Thanks for bringing me to my knees (pun intended) and reminding me who You are so I can remember how much You love me.  And help me continue to trust you one step at a time.
