The vet called me this morning to let me know the result of the extensive blood panel they did on Zip. It turns out he has Hyperthyroidism, possibly due to a nodule on his thyroid, is anemic (though not severely, thank God), and has some issues with his kidneys that will require a change in his and his sister's diet. Both Zip and Boo are from the same litter and have the same parents, so Boo is also starting to display some of the same symptoms as Zip is right now. Dr. Steve felt that if we change Zip's diet due to his kidneys, it would be best to also change Boo's since both Kidney and Thyroid diseases can be genetic. Today I will be picking up Zip's thyroid meds and new food for both him and Boo. It will run about $100 for it all, but it is a cost I am glad to pay for the chance of seeing my boy and girl return to their usual active and happy little fur-butt selves. Keep up the prayers for both my fur babies, please! Prayer always helps, and thank you all for your prayers so far!
