Praise God!!!
Ok this is a looong update.. but I will do my best to revise it tommorrow.. but I just could not help but just type it all for now! So please bare with me!!!
An awesome day!!!
Praise God! He is soo awesome! Rejoice with me as we give thanks to God for He is awesome! Well, I have had a blessed day! but before I start that, I have to admit this has been the most intense 7 months of my life.. and an awesome adventure. I am soberly in joy as the Missionary Training students are now about to graduate next week and many will be off to different ministries around the world. God has used them to truly challenge me in many ways. They will be missed. I try to send a pic of them in my next newsletter.
Today was awesome though. I have to admit I have felt far from God's presence these weeks, it has been like a roller coaster.. in which I rejoice because usually something awesome happens after that. First Mark and I left to Yucunama this week. This was hard on Mark because this was his last day comming to Yucunama, and so it was alot of good-byes for him. I can tell he has grown alot this year. Anyhow.... we were able to visit Willie, the grumpy american that has lived in Yucunama for 10 years. (apparently he was a stunt man for Top Gun and got injured into an earlly retirement) Also apparently he was addicted to morphine and heroine for some years, but recently has asked us to pray for him. So everyone at the base did. And today he was rejoicing because it has been 2 months since he has quite! He aknowledged that it was our prayers. We responded that, it was God who still listens. It was awesome, I felt the peace of God, and both Mark and I explained the gospel to him. I can tell he is waighed down with his past sin and I think its a heavy thing to give to God. But he wants me and others to continue to visit him, and he aggreed to us to give him a bible and do bible studies with him!
Next was the bible study. The bible study I had planned to do I usually wait to give when one commits their life to Jesus completely but this time I felt as though I was topose to give it. So with just Elias's family, we did a bible study on the story of Jesus's resurrection in the book of Luke.Elias read the story and bam... once he got to the point on reading:
Luke 24:37They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."
He excaimed in spanish "THEN.... Jesus resurrected with his body as well!!!" I was stumped. I looked at him with a smile as I realized he never knew that Jesus's physical body resurrected as well.. not just his Spirit. I had to ask him more specifically... "so you did not know that Jesus with His body resurrected??" He told me no, he always thought it was just His Spirit. I asked him if this changes his view on prayer. he had always thought that he was talking to a Spirit when he talked to Jesus. It was a pleasing shock to him. He exclaimed that this is something to dwell and chew on for a while. I then went on to explain that Him resurrecting in body form is why we have such faith and is what gave the disciples such faith to believe and follow Him... knowing that He defeated death.. that death has no power over Him. that is why we focus so much on Him and not as much on any of his disciples and even his mom... because no one else has resurrected LIKE Jesus and caught up to heaven! I explained a bit of my testimony how I use to believe in idols because I wanted to have something physical to help me pray to Jesus but knowing that He resurrected helped me alot. That when you talk to Jesus you are talking to a physical Jesus whom we can't see. They were blown away... and so was I because it just reminded me of the joy of perhaps a glimpse of the tip of the tip of the iceburg of what perhaps the disciples must have felt like to understand that Jesus resurrected.. rose from the dead and is ALIVE!
Romans 6:9
For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.
I couldn't even imagine what Elias and his wife was feeling. When we ended in prayer, I started first and then Elias and then his wife. Elias prayed to God giving thanks for revealing something new to him, revealing how he resurrected! When his wife prayed, she just prayed a simple pray of thanks, and that she would like to talk to him more now that she knows she is talking to a Person. And I say more than a Person!!!
I was soo excited to have been able to see that... and humbled. Nope... I am trying to say something else now... but nope.. there are no words for seeing that. Last week we had a great bible study as we studied Pauls testimony and how ruthless he was in murdering Christians and how God changed him and used him to plant many churches and write much fo the new testament. Elias exclaimed "so God can forgive anyone and use anyone ". I again encouraged him to commit his life to Jesus in which he replied that would be nice... but something he felt missing... that he needed to know more. I think this night was what he really needed! And what many in Oaxaca need... or many in the world for that matter. I am realizing more and more.. many dont even realize Jesus is not dead anymore but ALIVE!
To top it off I had to go back to the base tonight to get my dental stuff and head back tommorrow to check some teeth. I shared with the driver of the urbans (sort of like taxis but in a van with other people), turns out he knew someone from the base, enjoyed our conversation and didn't charge me a thing!!!! God is awesome. His name is Sergio.. please keep him in prayer as he was interested of learning more about Christ but people in urbans work more than 100 hours a week!
Thank you all soo so sooo much for your prayers! To top that off.. it seems after LOOONG waited time... within the next month the hearing aid which I have spoken about months ago will finally arive. Thank you those who have been praying and contributing! I can't wait to give him the hearing aid and then he can hear the gospel more clearly. (he can't read)
Please pray as tommorrow as this time Brian and his family will head back with me to Yucunama and they will be doing their rounds of goodbyes while I will be sharing more with Elias as well as with Juana and her husband and any one else God leads. Pray that we meet Willy and he still accepts the bible we are to give him.
God bless! Love you all and miss you all! But am blessed by God to know you all!!!

1 Pet 1:3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, 5who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
