A friend of mine died yesterday. He was young...still in his early twenties. No one saw it coming until about a month ago, when he was diagnosed with cancer. On the brighter side, he was a Christian and I know I will be seeing him again. However, I don't know if I'm going to be allowed to go to his funeral. The church he attended sees my church as a rival and anytime we run into any of it's members, they accuse us of proselytizing, even if we're just talking about the weather. It's stupid, but they want us shut down. They act more like a cult than the Body of Christ. For this reason, I'm not sure that me, my brother, my mom and dad (both pastors of the church), and my pastor, all of whom were friends with this man, will be able to attend his funeral. It makes me sick. Please pray for peace, not only for his friends and family, but between these churches. Thank you.

That is so disappointing, that one church will view another as a rival. The churches, his family, friends, they're all in my prayers. :)

Well, we called the pastor of that church and asked if it would be okay for us to attend his funeral. We can, thank God. Thank you for your prayers.

You will know them by their fruit! Sounds like they are not even saved. CHurch is not always about Jesus as you well know. Church should be about getting out of the 4 walls, and bringing people to Jesus Christ before they die and go to HELL>

Ok im sorry but you cant call that a church if they call another church a rival!It makes me sick too!I mean its not like your competing for a prize your trying to bring people to Christ!You are definetly in my prayers!
