My friend's mom was killed in her house over the weekend. My friend and her 16 year old brother found her, I want to talk her but I don't know what to say. I also want to do something for her and her siblings for Christmas but I can't think of anything right now. Do you guys have any advice on what I could say to my friend when I do talk to her? Do you have any ideas as something I could do for my friend and her siblings? In Christ, livin4Him17

Of course, from the perspective of a friend, we want some magic words to make it better, to make it hurt a little less. But I think just being there is more important than what you say. Being there shows that you care and that you want to help. Normally, the one hurting, the one that needs to talk, will start the conversation without much help. As far as what to do, I would say anything that the mom would normally do would be a help. For example, if she usually made dinner, you could make a dish and bring it over.

This is a tough one.....I would just try to be there for her and her family. Let her know you are willing to do whatever it takes to help. Keep her and her family in prayer. Please keep up posted on this. God Bless
