Picturing Messiah

Exodus 35:2 - "On six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is to be a holy day for you, a Shabbat of complete rest in honor of ADONAI. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death." The very first thing Moses establishes after his “second coming” down the mountain is the Sabbath day. He prefaces the instructions for the work of the Tabernacle with the prohibition of working on the Sabbath. This is significant on several levels. On the literal, it is significant because it teaches us that the observance of the Sabbath is even more important than the tabernacle where HaShem dwells (building or body). If not for this command being reiterated at this time, Israel might have supposed that it was permissible to work on HaShem’s dwelling place during His Holy Day. In the Messianic perspective, it is significant because it teaches us that when Messiah comes the second time, He will first re-establish the Sabbath. The second coming of Moses down the mountain prefigures the second coming of Messiah. The first thing Messiah will do is call the assembly, as Torah says: Exodus 35:1 - "Moshe assembled the whole community of the people of Isra'el" Immediately after assembling Israel, Yeshua will reinstitute the Sabbath laws. One might wonder, “Why did Moses have to give them the Sabbath law again? It was one of the ten commandments, right? Why do they need to hear it again?” But think about this This one of two commands (out of the “big ten”) most often ignored by most all believer’s today is the Sabbath, hence when Messiah comes, one of the first orders of business is to set straight the way of HaShem and His Holy Sabbath. It also is important because the Sabbath pictures the Messianic age. Not only will messiah re-establish the Biblical Sabbath when He comes, he will also institute a one housand year Sabbath. Answer me this For all those who expect to see that Sabbath, how can you ignore it week in and week out? How do expect to take part in one while you ignore the other? In that day when He comes the great Sabbath of redemptive history will be upon us.
