Whats up with EMO?

Man I don't know how some people listen to anything EMO, man music must be taking a turn for the worst when a bunch of dudes dress up in make up and talk about slitting their wrist and blowing their brains... its almost sad that they can only write a song about that... I mean everybody has something probably negative to say about every genre of music but I would have to say if we took a poll... most of us would want emo gone for good.... What do you guys think keep EMO or ban it????

What you think is emo probably is not what is really emo. This topic can go nowhere good, because no one can agree on what emo is, and we'd have to do that before we can decide if we want it gone or not. Personally I think some emo is good and creative music, and I'm against labeling genres based on their lyrics.

there really isn't much TRUE emo anymore... it's all different combinations and such i dont think you can really decide to ban a certain style of music because we dont understand it... i dont understand country but Im not gunna lobby for it's removal from history and existence.... if we could just get rid of a style of music because we dont like it, there would be no more music

i see that in your profile you like the ramones. you can blame them for helping punk become what it is, which in turn started emo. threads like this are pointless, i hate lots of things, but you don't see me starting threads about it.

you dont understand emo's. you have ur lifestyle, we have ours. so, quit labeling and judging and all that! no one likes it! so, get over yourself and quit judging people by their looks and by their lifestyle. only God has the right to judge!!! :angry:

emo is a type of music... emotional music... thats all it is.
