How does your music differ from your parents' selection? Just out of curiosity.

my parent are extreeeemly strict!! so i can hardly do anything anymore unless i sneak it...i love my music and i just wish they could get lost!! not everything had to be CHRISTIAN!!!!!!!..ugh....

...actually, It is almost identical. My Dad listens to my hard rock with me and Mom listens to everything else. Lol. Yeah, Dad is my headbanging buddy. We got to complain to Mom for a week after we hurt our necks that one time...it was awesome! Me and my bestfriend and my dad were all in pain for a while after that... Mom can handle pretty hard music though. Just not when they scream because she was a music major in college and she just thinks about how much they are hurting their voices...hehe.

My mom likes stuff like classic rock, oldies, folk:sick: , country (a little, I don't like it) and contemporary Christian music. My dad likes stuff like: classic rock, hard rock, 80s metal, Christian rock, and worship music from artists like Michael W. Smith and Chris Tomlin. So, yeah my dad likes a nice variety, huh? lol I take after my dad a lot when it comes to music. I listen to basically everything he listens to, but he can't stand bands like Pillar who scream in their songs, and I like that kind of music in moderation (they don't scream a lot, just a teeny bit). However, when it comes to my mom, I differ a lot. I hate folk music and country, and she can't stand most hard rock and any metal. Some of the only music we can all agree on is classic rock and the Christian stuff. lol

My mom and are both into country, and we like some of the same bands. Example: She and my dad (doesn't really like my music anymore) took me to see my FAVE country band Sugarland back in December where her fave band Little Big Town was one of the opening acts. Thanks to that concert, we both love Little Big Town, and she lets me blare my Sugarland cds in the car sometimes when we have a long drive. She also in Christian though.

well, my parents are really iffy about the music i like. Like my chemical romance. my mom wants me to level out my music so i can still listen to music i like but my dad only wants me to listen to extremely good stuff. like it has to be perfect. It annoys me. they like the music i listen to, just not the lyrics...
