This past year was my first year running track. Not only did i start the season late but i was a freshman. i remember my first practice...it was terrible!! everyone else had been practicing now for a few months. we were doing time trials that day (running each of your events as fast as you can). my times were sooo bad!! i remember praying every five minutes, praying for it to be over and for God to help me not suck so badly lol. finally time trials were over and then we went to do field events. i decided i would try long jump. then my coach decides hes gonna put me in pole vault whether i want to do it or not as well. basically, i sucked at that to lol. meets start rolling around and my coach only let me run in freshman meets and made me pole vault in varsity meets (that was a joy lol). it was so embarrassing!! as the year progresed i finally got to long jump and actually run in jv meets, i still had to vault in those varsity meets, even tho i wasnt any good, just for practice. before you kno it im running in jumping in varsity meets and my coach eventually let me stop vaulting. then came freshman regionals. i did fantastic!! i got to long jump in varsity regionals after that. at the end of the year we gave out awards. i had recieved mvp!!! i was psyched!!
