My poem
i started writing poetry about a year ago and this is the first one I wrote. Basically the story behind it - After my boyfriend broke up with me my world pretty much shattered. If you've ever heard the say "Never make someone your everything because when they're gone you've got nothing" well that was pretty much me. Good news is that i'm all good now =D but at the time I was really sad and about a week later wrote this. <3
WAITING
Today I will wait
For the love that is true
Each night and each day
I?ll wait here for you
I?ll wait through the pain
The tears that I?ve cried
Forever they?ll stain
The letters I?ve scribed
Still I will smile
on the outside for now
your love so consuming
it just won?t allow
My heart to be free
the pain to decease
so your love I will hold to
let the pain now increase
you told me to wait
that you would return
even though the words
were never really heard
I saw it in your eyes
in your loving embrace
as you whispered those words
and I no longer could trace
the moment which led
you to say goodbye
the words which you said
I thought I would die
So I sit here just waiting
watching the sky
the tears now are streaming
not a soul walks by
my heart now is shattered
the pieces askew
where are they now?
Only you know the clues
to finding my soul
to finding my heart
one piece is still missing
its yours, you have the part
you fit in so well
your perfect you see
no other man will fit there
you?re the only true key
why do you leave me
waiting so cold
with chills racing down
my love is untold
I don?t know where
or if it even exists
you once had it found
when I was in utter bliss
but now it is gone
the happiness taken
my love no longer there
just a girl, alone and shaken
not a comfort in sight
no one can say
words to bring back
that glorious day
when everything so peaceful
love in the air
the days when I had you
I didn?t want to share
I want you again
back in my life
I want you to hear
my pains and my strife
so comfort my soul
take pity on me
a girl who would love you
if only I could see
the true words were told
one raining summer night
I love you no longer
I was blinded, but not by sight
my heart made me a fool
my happiness, a deception
for what love really is
a lack of protection
there?s no where to go
even though I still run
from all that I know
save me, anyone
I want to give in
To run to your arms
even though I know that
It will only cause me harm
So I?ll sit here, just waiting
watching for you
