My journey for finding the love of a lifetime

After the death of my father I began to look for love in all the wrong places. When I look back on a relationship I had, he was sort of like a father-type figure to me. He taught me to drive a stick shift, he taught me there was different churches out there as well as different styles of christian music. When he told me that he needed space and I took it differently, it was like my died all over again. I was able to get closure on that, in 1998 I went down to see a friend and decided that I was going to go see where my dad was buried (I hadn't been there since he died). When I went I reinacted the entire funeral. I knew the exact place I sat at the funeral and watched them take him out of the chapel and put him into this wall. Then I sat there and talked to him. I noticed that there was room for someone else to be buried with my dad. When I left I was bound and determined I wanted to be buried there. Surprisingly I made it back to my brother's house. When I moved down to So. Cal I went and seen my dad all the time. So that was some closure for me because the more times I went and saw him the more I got my feelings out in the open. When I moved to Tennessee that is when I started the Falling in Love with Jesus study by Kathy Troccoli and Dee Brestin. That is truly what changed my life. God has set eternity in our hearts (ECCL 3:11). This longing that we feel is not longings for this world. God has set this in our hearts for Him. He wants us to long for Him just as he longs for us. Even though people may leave you Jesus will never leave you or forsake you. Whenever you need someone to hold you and kiss you, just open the Word of God and He will speak to you. According to rabbinical tradition a kiss from the king is a living word from scripture. When a verse leaps out at you and you have the sense that God has spoken personally to you, you have been kissed by the King. I have experienced it first hand and it is like nothing else in this world. He is the bridegroom who woos, wins and weds.
