I've come to terms with the fact that there will never be a time when you have nothing to worry about in life. At the same time, I'm not upset about it. A friend a few weeks back asked why life couldn't just be easy. I thought about it for a while, and then I realized, if life were easy it would be boring. Think about it. All of our life seems to be a preparation for the next big thing. School is a preparation for college. College is a preparation for your career. The jobs held during high school and college are jobs held to make enough money to pay for your first car, or your classes, or that great new jacket you want. The time spent in high school and college, trying to find a boyfriend or girlfriend is all preparing for that person whom you're going to spend the rest of your life with. So what happens when things become ordinary? We have conflicts. Not only to fill our time, but to realize what God has given us. You can never fully appreciate something until it's gone. You would never know what it felt like to be warm unless you were cold. Or at least you would never have appreciated it. You'd never know just how special your friends or family is to you until you lose them, or have come close to it. We're given challenges so we can understand what we've got and so we appreciate God. So after we got through whatever problem we were faced with, we could look at God and go "Gee, Lord. Guess I should have known you would have taken care of it all along. Thanks." Or at least we're supposed to. Take time everyday just to look around and realize what you have, and then thank God for it, because once it's gone, you'll only be able to thank Him for what you had.
