is this the music God would want us listening to? tell me which one God would like more... in your opinion. Laid To Rest If there was a single day I could live... a single breath I could take I'd trade all the others away. The blood's on the wall, so you'd might as well just admit it And bleach out the stains, commit to forgetting it. You're better off empty and blank, than left with a single pathetic trace of this Smother another failure, lay this to rest. Console yourself, you're better alone Destroy yourself, see who gives a f*** Absorb yourself, you're better alone Destroy yourself. I'll chain you to the truth, for the truth shall set you free I'll turn the screws of vengeance and bury you with honesty I'll make all your dreams come to life, then slay them as quickly as they came Smother another failure, lay this to rest. Console yourself, you're better alone Destroy yourself, see who gives a fuck Absorb yourself, you're better alone Destroy yourself, see who gives a f*** Failure. If there was a day I could live, if there was a single breath I could take I'd trade all the others away. or... In Hell Born to this world of pride and deceit Dropped out of life, no place to fit Pushed around and trampled on the ground Left aside, choosing to hide Being alone, trapped in silence Living in shame, is everything in vain? Do I want to live? Do I want to die? What will happen then? Is it worth to try? The gates of Hell are wide open Enter into suffocating darkness The unseen horrors in the furnace of fire Burning torment, rotting in pain In Hell it's too late to realize That it is worse than this life No release by suicide Without forgiveness and sacrifice We are all condemned to burn in fire Cold, corrupted world filled with lies and despise Busy, wasted lives and hollow, empty eyes Searching for success, working night and day Finally drained empty and thrown away Being alone, trapped in silence Living in shame, is everything in vain? Do I want to live? Do I want to die? What will happen then? Is it worth to try? There is only One who can save you from this hell The Son of God who shed His blood for our sins The ultimate sacrifice to forgive our wrongings And whoever calls His name will be saved The gates of Hell are wide open Enter into suffocating darkness The unseen horrors in the furnace of fire Burning torment, rotting in pain In Hell it's too late to realize That it is worse than this life No release by suicide Without forgiveness and sacrifice We are all condemned to burn in fire Jesus save me! both heavy metal/black metal bands.. now which one SHOULD we listen to?

I love both these bands. Renascent also has the benefit of being Christian, so that's a huge plus. However, I can't help but be a LOG fan. The thing with Lamb of God is they are lost. I'm not anyone to judge, but I think it's fair to bet they haven't yet found Christ. Still, I don't see them as being opposed to Christ or God. I could be wrong, as I haven't heard all their music, but let's talk about Laid to Rest specifically. I like the song, but it is a challenging one to figure out as far as the message is concerned. He seems to be singling out a person who is caught in their own deception and denial (and by the looks of it, they (the person LOG is talking to) seem to have spilled blood, though they may deny it). Through the course of the song, LOG has brought the person's deeds out into the open and condemned them into solitude, for they are "better alone" where they can sulk and "adorn" themselves (meaning is uncertain to me, probably just to sit and mentally implode with their own disturbing thoughts and methods). LOG also makes it very clear that no one will care when this person is lost to themselves (that's what all the "who gives a f*ck" is about). So, in conclusion, yes, not the MOST Christlike attitude around, but still, at least their aggression seems to be directed toward deceit and other such negative themes.
