christmas music

so what sort of listening pleasures do you enjoy during the holidays? i normally listen to: trans-siberian orchestra - all three christmas albums are pretty good, but i make a mix of my favorites that is a lot shorter, 16 tracks. a brutal christmas - not for everyone, but brutal death metal + christmas music = happiness. i love the rawness and the brutality. i wouldn't mind the recording quality to be a little better, but i enjoy it nonetheless. frank sinatra - his christmas music is classic. i never get tired of his music, and to hear it in christmas form is perfection. johnny cash - who doesn't like this guy? he does christmas music right. nat king cole - another classic, you don't have christmas unless you hear nat singing let it snow. elvis presley - i've actually come to enjoy his christmas music. it's very nice. metal christmas - i don't know who the bands are, but it's good for a one time listen in my cd player. power metal doesn't do it for me, so one time is all it gets, but it still gets that amount of airplay and deserves mention.

christmas music should be played a week before christmas, not a week before thanksgiving

a week before thanksgiving was two weeks ago. christmas season officially starts the week after thanksgiving is over, it's when the commercials and businesses begin their christmas slogans.

Steven Curtis Chapman's Christmas record is probably my favorite. There are a few others I like. Generally I like to go light on the Christmas music.

While I love some Christmas music, I HATE it when radio stations play them way before Christmas! If I wanted to listen to Christmas music that bad, I'd play some cds or tapes or something! I will say the the TransSiberian Orchestra is AWESOME though!

I understand how ya'll feel... but I personally think that there should be a completely separate station for Christmas music all year round, I like to hear Christmas music at the most random times during the year. lol. I know I'm a nerd. *shrugs* Pretty much anything having to do with Christmas. I, however, HATE anything done by the Beatles or Beach Boys or any group similar to them... don't ask why, I just personally cannot stand their sound. OMGOSH! I love the version of "Baby It's Cold Outside" by Bing Crosby and Doris Day. That is the only version of that song I like. I also love the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, pretty much anything other than what I named in the second paragraph. lol.
