So, my girlfriend went to the doctor's today for a physical. While she was there, she mentioned that she had been getting lightheaded a lot and blacking out and stuff. The doctor gave her an EKG. They found a little (very little) piece of her heart missing. They said it probably wasn't serious, but they wanted to perform an Echocardiogram, just to make sure. That was this morning. She came over to my house tonight and we hung out for a little. I guess the doctor called her mom while she was out (I don't really know). But anyways, she called me about twenty minutes ago and told me that the doctors think she has [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HOCM]Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy (HOCM)[/url]. The good news is, it's treatable. The bad news is, it's the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in athletes (she's a dancer). I'm not looking forward to her having a cardiac arrest anytime soon. Please pray firstly that the doctors are wrong, and secondly that God restores her to wholeness if it be His Will. Thank you so much.

she's in my prayers. it doesn't happen much anymore but i used to faint and become light-headed a lot so i know how that feels...ESPECIALLY as a dancer (i take ballet, modern, and lyrical). I'd cry if I had to quit:( I hope she gets to feeling better soon! And don't worry, everything happens for a reason even if we don't know what that is. Y'all are in my prayers.

I'm afraid to ask, but how'd it go?

hey guys im nathans girlfriend just in case no one saw it earlier..so i got my echo and they told me that i have a slight hole in the top two chambers in my heart. Everyone is born with it, but it usually closes as they get older, mine never did, about 1 in 4 people have it. Its fixable but i have to see a cardiogist. Btw its called a PFO. As for the dizzyness i need to start eating more cause i dont eat enought, i need more protein and sugars. But i should be fine..I wanted to say thanks for all yall prayers but if you could please keep praying for me, cause its really hard. im not allowed to dance, and dance is my passon! Im not allowed to dance until i dont get dizzy anymore. so yeah..but thanks i really appricate it! Katie
