1. they swear too much 2. singer=whiny 3. singer=annoying 4. too much politics 5. hate their style 6. limited song-writing talent 7. too much aiming for popular 8. bad sound etc,...

Brother reed, back off man. im not like that, you might be but im not. and i love green day. theyre my favorite band ever. green day got where they are today by being annoying. thats what made them popular was by making whiny lyrics!!! and all of their fans like it. they are not trying to be popular way too fast because theyve been a band for almost 18 years. now they really made it with dookie. there were so many people that would do anything to see them perform. then they had their other cds before american idiot and people liked them too. but then american idiot came out and it was a whole new thing. now i know it has to do with politics in a way, but billie joe wrote every song on that record to be told as a story. a story of a kid and how he deals with things in the world and his views of things. now about them looking like girls. they wear eyeliner because its what punks do today. they have funny hair and wear eyeliner. 'nuff said!!!!! and the political part isnt even that bad because one band called anti flag is all about politics. and they pretty much the most anti american people i can think of

All he's saying is that this eyeliner stuff is strangely reminiscent of what POP groups are known to do. "Because that's what punks do"? Real punk of them, wearing eyeliner just because other people do. Also I like how you say Green Day's political messages aren't bad because you can think of someone worse. Congratulations, someone's agenda is worse than Green Day's. This doesn't somehow make them not bad.
