does the word god offend you so much that you can't type the letter o?

"You shall not use the name of the L-rd your G-d in vain" *I* know that G-d is not G-d's name, but many Americans seem to be under the mistaken impression that it is. It is to keep from offending anyone else that I write it as such. If I am talking about some other (false) god, which is not capitalized, of course I have no problem writing it. It is out of reverence for Hashem and respect for my brethren. So... about that show...

am i right in assuming you find the phrase merry christmas offensive... or at least you just don't say it because you don't want to offend anyone else? also, if you're worrying about offending anyone by saying god's name on a board that is mostly made up of christians you'll probably find more people would be offended by seeing g-d than god. i'm sorry, i just think people like you are retarded. only a select few find things offensive, and normally they are just nitpicks who are trying to find something wrong with everything. you'll never please everyone, so don't make adjustments please the people, that's stupid. edit: and good job not offending anyone else.;)

I don't know why he is considered Punk. Tattoos and piercings don't make you Punk. And I doubt he is you kind of guy, from the bit I saw about it on TV it sounds like his church excepts gays and lesbians, I know how much you approve of that.

>am i right in assuming you find the phrase merry christmas offensive... or at least you just don't say it because you don't want to offend anyone else? Funny, we were just talking about this elsewhere. If I know someone celebrates Christmas, I wish them a Merry Christmas. If I know they celebrate Chanukah, I will wish them a Happy Chanukah. Whatever they wish me (Happy Holidays/Chanukah or Merry Christmas) I will wish it back to them. If I don't know them I will say to them that I hope they have a Happy Holiday (and mean it). I offend others sometimes, but I do not go out of my way to do so, and I certainly don't wear senseless offense on my sleeve as a badge of honor as you seem to (based on your calling me retarded, though I showed you respect). >you'll never please everyone, so don't make adjustments please the people, that's stupid. I find it doesn't take much effort, or offend ME in order to have peace. But then, I do not desire to strife with people, either, so maybe that's the difference between us. >I know how much you approve of that. Do you? I'll hear anybody out. What exactly do you know about my opinion on gays?

Sorry if I assumed incorrectly, but most people on this site and most of the Christians I have met think gays are sinners, and some even go as far as to hate them.
i'm just being honest about my feelings. normally i'm harsh when i post on discussion boards, but hey, it's the internet. as for my badge of honor, you really don't know me to assume what i consider honorable. one thing, if you're jewish my apologies. i've heard that in judaism some people are really picky about the names of god. i wasn't trying to bash your religion, i just hate it when people do stupid things because they feel it's more politically correct. someone complained about the christmas trees in my airport, and threatened a lawsuit if they didn't take them down... i figure people like that really need to grow up. if you are like that, i still feel the same, but i don't want to dishonor your religion.

Bob >Sorry if I assumed incorrectly, but most people on this site and most of the Christians I have met think gays are sinners, and some even go as far as to hate them. I think we're all sinners. Being saved doesn't make us perfect, it just makes us forgiven. Screams >i'm just being honest about my feelings. normally i'm harsh when i post on discussion boards, but hey, it's the internet. I would challenge you, in agape, to find a biblical basis for this stance, or to rethink if it is the best policy. It's true that you can 'get away with' saying things on the internet that you would not say to a person's face (case in point- Jim), but I think it's important that we remember that everyone we talk to online is still a real live person, and deserves the same respect as anyone we meet in real life. > i've heard that in judaism some people are really picky about the names of god. I don't think 'picky' is appropriate. I think that Jews are more reverent about using His name. They do have multiple "substitute" names, to use in place of His Name, but Christians do that, too. Again, "G-d" is not His Name (with or without the "o"), and there is plenty of Biblical basis for this stance. Jim, Jim, Jim... Do you preach the gospel and testify with that mouth, too, or just put others down? You want to talk about Jew envy... It's not MY church that goes around saying we're the "New Israel".. We're all Jews, every true believer. You seem to be taking to it a little easier than I, what with the "self hating Jew" syndrome and all.
