Well they have a whole album dedicated to songs of lost love and breakups... that's a pretty emo thing to do. Though not necessarily bad. I'd say they are pop rock.

wikipedia's description is more accurate. "rock/power pop". normally i like to call it power poop instead. you don't trust everything, or things that disagree with you? i assume you were checking up on whether what i said was true or not, and found that wikipedia agreed with me so it was probably wrong... i don't know why you would have known what i said was written there if you hadn't checked there right away to refute what i said. i actually didn't go to wikipedia. did you know that rhapsody also says that sunny day real estate is one of the most influential emo bands? funny how it agrees with me. here are some other resources that might make more sense. it always seems like the people who say rites of spring and embrace were the first two emo bands actually sound like they know what they're talking about, and they aren't using rhapsody as their source of definition. http://www.fourfa.com/ http://zillapedia.quizilla.com/r/212/Real_emo/ http://www.angelfire.com/emo/origin/

forgive me, you weren't very clear. i thought you were disagreeing with me on the origins of emo, since that was the only thing i said that was directed to you personally and you didn't specify exactly what you were responding to. if that's the case, let's check what the band calls themselves on their myspace profile. http://www.myspace.com/allamericanrejects as you can see it clearly says they are rock/power pop directly under their name in the upper left corner of the page. i don't know what is more clear than that. if that's not enough, check out their purevolume account. http://www.purevolume.com/theallamericanrejects either the band doesn't know what their music sounds like, or they really are rock/powerpop. looks like yet another submission on wikipedia proves to provide information accurate to their resources. you think i'm stupid for using wikipedia for info if i don't have reason to believe it's accurate?
