The Star Wars movies was one of the best set of movies ever made. The storyline was great, the action was awesome, and the dialoge was interesting. These movies are by far George Lucas' greatest achievement.

If you mean the Original Trilogy I agree with you whole-heartedly. These are some of my favorite movies of all time. The prequels are George Lucas' attempt at destroying his own greatest achievement. The less said about those, the better.

I couldn't have put it better, BrotherReed. The originals are masterpieces, while the prequels continue to serve as a shameful insult to Star Wars fans everywhere.

I admit I liked Revenge of the Sith, even though it should have been better than it was. It's the only one of the prequels I think I'd like to own. Seriously though, all three of the original trilogy are in my top 5 movies. I grew up with them and when I revisit them they are still awesome. The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite. I thought it was the worst when I was a kid but now I like it the most. Probably because it is the best movie for Han Solo and he's my favorite character in the series. He gets a lot of growth in that one, and kinda steals the show from Luke. Actually, my favorite sequence in all the Star Wars movies is the Millennium Falcon's escape from Hoth and into the asteroid field. An odd choice, maybe, but I love the music and it has some great effects as well as a classic Han moment.

i think i liked the prequels more when i first started watching star wars because i saw them before episodes 4-6. and i was like "o yea, this stuff i so great! special effects are awesome! man, i havent seen anything like his before...." and then i saw 4, 5, and 6 and was like "how could you go from those kinda of special effects, to these pieces of crap?" at that time i didnt know 4-6 were made before 1:laugh: and i think my favorite part in the whole series is the pod race in episode 1. once you see that in hi-def and hear it in surround sound, everything else doesnt seem as good as you thought it was before. but i also liked the darth maul battle from episode 1 and jedi battle from episdoe 2. i could go on, but im sleepy. so i think ill do it another time

He screwed up thr prequels by making them mushy love stories rather than keeping them the same with the three awesome originals

I agree. I loved how all the movies had dofferent storylines, yet were all together. My favorite ,though, was "Revenge of the Sith." I loved how it tied up all the loose ends.

You guys who are 15 and 16 right now, that means you were only 6 or 7 when the prequels came out. So in many cases you hadn't had a chance to see and appreciate Star Wars before catching this big new movie event with the flashy special effects that are oh-so-kewl. Not that it's entirely your fault. I'm gonna be sure I show my kids Star Wars (and from now on when I say Star Wars, I am referring to the OT unless otherwise specified) from an early age and make sure they get it right! :D Also, to RATM, the line is "No, I am your father." And it is so parodied because it is so famous and had such a great impact on movie-goers at the time. Just like "Here's lookin' at you, kid" or "What we got here is failure to communicate," these are lines that have become a part of the culture. People say them without even knowing where they are from. It's really a compliment to the films that spawned them.
